Prerequisites
Before connecting IDrive e2, you need:

- Your e2 endpoint URL
Getting Your IDrive e2 Credentials
Step 1: Create an IDrive e2 Account
- Go to the IDrive e2 signup page
- Complete the registration process
- Log into the IDrive e2 dashboard
Step 2: Generate Access Keys
- In the e2 dashboard, navigate to Access Keys
- Click Create Access Key
- Copy the Access Key ID and Secret Access Key
- Important: Save these credentials securely — the Secret Access Key is shown only once
Step 3: Note Your Endpoint
- In the e2 dashboard, go to Regions
- Find your assigned endpoint URL (e.g.,
q9d9.la12.idrivee2-5.com) - Copy this endpoint — you will need it when configuring Pluton

Step 3: Advanced Options (Optional)
Additional settings available:

- Chunk Size: Adjust the chunk size for multipart uploads (default: 5 MiB)
- Upload Cutoff: Set the threshold for switching to chunked uploads (default: 200 MiB)

Step 4: Test and Save
- Click Test Connection to verify credentials
- If successful, click Save
- Your IDrive e2 storage is now ready for backup plans
Common Issues
Invalid Endpoint: Each IDrive e2 account is assigned a unique endpoint URL. Ensure you're using the exact endpoint shown in your e2 dashboard, not a generic URL.
Access Denied: Verify your Access Key credentials are correct. If you lost the Secret Access Key, delete the key and create a new one from the e2 dashboard.
Bucket Not Found: Ensure the bucket exists in your IDrive e2 account. You can create buckets from the e2 dashboard before connecting to Pluton.
Best Practices
- IDrive e2 offers competitive pricing with no egress fees on most plans
- Use the endpoint closest to your Pluton server for best performance
- Create separate buckets for different backup plans
- Enable immutability (Object Lock) when available for ransomware protection
