Common Issues

Invalid Endpoint: Each IDrive e2 account is assigned a unique endpoint URL. Ensure you're using the exact endpoint shown in your e2 dashboard, not a generic URL.

Access Denied: Verify your Access Key credentials are correct. If you lost the Secret Access Key, delete the key and create a new one from the e2 dashboard.

Bucket Not Found: Ensure the bucket exists in your IDrive e2 account. You can create buckets from the e2 dashboard before connecting to Pluton.

Best Practices

  • IDrive e2 offers competitive pricing with no egress fees on most plans
  • Use the endpoint closest to your Pluton server for best performance
  • Create separate buckets for different backup plans
  • Enable immutability (Object Lock) when available for ransomware protection
